We started the morning with a tour of the Warehouse's new ramp and a hike to the overlook by the Dead River.
There were ripe blueberries already, and service berries too!
Back at the Warehouse, we played the bowling ball name game and talked briefly about safety and how we could work best together.
During tool training we assembled helpful items for camp: a cedar log ladder, a rack for our ear protection, and a pedestal shelf for our interesting nature finds.
Amazingly, we kept finding toads in the Warehouse throughout the day. This was the first one we found, but not the last!
The take-apart table was a popular activity. Many interesting parts were collected from some old corded power tools that were no longer in working condition.
On such a warm day it was refreshing to swim and float in the water. We found a little painted turtle doing the same!
When we returned we got right to sketching out some of our ideas for this week's adventure challenge: Build a wheeled vehicle powered by a single bike, that can transport your team back to the Warehouse along the bike path.
Each group was given a bike to use for parts and access to other salvage materials.
These rollerblades got repurposed, just waiting to see if someone comes up with an idea for the booties!
Tomorrow we promise an official toad count!
